About the Bed

The Bed is the first Furniture and storage piece every base actually needs: claiming a bed sets your respawn point. Death without a claimed bed sends you all the way back to the Wise Old Man’s temple — with a bed, you wake up at your own base and keep the run alive.

It is also cheap progress: 8 Ash Planks and 4 Rough Cloth through the Sawmill and Spinning Wheel lines, for 24 Construction XP on placement. That is why the community build order puts it before the Campfire → Furnace → Blacksmith’s Bench trio — the bed is the piece your run depends on.

In co-op worlds, claim a bed per player early — respawn points are personal, and a shared base with no claimed beds sends everyone back to the temple on a wipe.
